Yo-kai Watch Episode 47 is an episode of Yo-kai Watch Anime. It's about Yo-kai Gunshi Whisbei story.

Yo-kai Whisbe

Whisper is cleaning his Yo-kai Pad when suddenly Nate bursts into the room claiming Bear has been acting weird lately. Of course Whisper blows him off as usual, saying it’s definitely not a Yo-kai. Nate is more annoyed than usual with Whisper’s answer, wondering if Whisper should just let him use the Yo-kai Pad to look things up.

This sends Whisper over the edge and he blows up in anger at Nate, but Nate points out that Whisper has no special ability like other Yo-kai do. Contrary to Nate’s claim, Whisper states he DOES have an ability, he just can’t reveal it. Later, Jibanyan and Whisper are chatting on the roof of Nate’s house. Jibanyan wonders why Whisper can’t just tell them about his powers, but Whisper says that if he did reveal his secret then he would have to part ways with Nate.

Right at that moment, Kin and Gin are hovering over Nate’s house. Just like they did with Jibanyan, they activate their time-traveling powers to send Whisper into the past in order to change the future so he never meets Nate.

Awakening in the past, Whisper finds him transformed into his former self, and Jibanyan finds himself turned into a regular cat. Whisper quickly realizes he’s been transported to the town where he lived in his youth. Before long he also finds Keinosuke , who he formerly inspirited. When Keinosuke bumps into Whisper, he suddenly belches out a green cloud that makes Keinosuke pretend to know things which he really doesn’t.

Whisper reveals that his true power is to cause people to act like they know things when they really do not—and his former name was Shittakaburi. Keinosuke muses that some kind of ghost is forcing him to say weird things, but he has no time to ponder this, as he has been summoned by the lord of the region. At the lord’s palace, the lord asks Keinosuke if he knows the whereabouts of a particular legendary katana.

Of course, Keinosuke doesn’t actually know, but Shittakaburi uses his powers to make Nate pretend he does know. Keinosuke claims it’s hidden in a mountain nearby; however when the mountain is searched the katana is nowhere to be found. When the lord questions Keinosuke about the katana’s whereabouts, Keinosuke drops to his knees and apologizes, claiming that a ghost made him say nonsense.

Of course the lord doesn’t buy this, but the lord’s advisor steps in, stating that he does sense some kind of presence around Keinosuke. Without a moment’s delay he starts an exorcism, and the two Yo-kai start to float up to heaven—before the lord suddenly interrupts. The lord has seen the form of a sword, being formed by a rock dividing a waterfall in half—the legendary katana. He then implores the ghost inspiriting Keinosuke to inspirit him instead.

At this point Kin and Gin “fast-forward” the story in order to move their plan along. The next point in the story is the scene of a major battle, and the lord’s advisors are consulting with him to decide whether they should retreat or continue advancing. At a loss, the lord consults with Whisper, who says that rather than retreating, the army should set fire to the forest.

However the lord immediately points out that they are downwind and such a plan would backfire on them—literally. However Whisper uses his powers to influence the lord and make him spout nonsense about the wind direction changing. Before he can even tell his soldiers to stop, they’ve set a fire—and miraculously, the wind direction actually changes, blowing the smoke towards the enemy and creating an opening. The lord declares a full-on assault, and the battle is won.

Sometime later, the lord is celebrating his victory back at his manor. Thanking Whisper, he claims that Whisper is not a “nonsense” Yo-kai, but actually a brilliant tactician. When asked for his name, Whisper gives his name as “Whisbe”—Yokai Tactician Whisbe. Without any warning Kin and Gin suddenly start fast forwarding the story again, with rapid time skips showing how Whisper helped the feudal lord become renowned for excellent decisions.

Eventually the time skips stop, this time with Jibanyan and Whisper at the lord’s manor during the night. The feudal lord thanks Whisper for his assistance in bolstering his reputation, stating that he is grateful to Whisper for helping him realize his goal of fighting for the sake of the family head. After this brief moment there is another time skip, this time Jibanyan and Whisper are thrown into the midst of a battlefield. This particular battlefield is the site of the feudal lord’s decisive battle. According to the historical account of the battle, he is betrayed here and loses. Fully aware of the high stakes of this battle, the feudal lord solicits Whisper’s tactical advice. Kin and Gin interrupt at this moment, as this is the critical moment that determines the future—will Whisper repeat the past or not?

If Whisper repeats his past actions, then the feudal lord will die. Kin and Gin point out that if he instead uses his ability on the opposing army, then his lord will be victorious. Whisper caves to the pressure and decides to save his lord. He reveals his true identity as Shittakaburi to the lord, and also that he never really had any tactical abilities at all. The whole time it had just been the feudal lord’s good luck.

Thus, Whisper has decided to use his ability to attack the enemy army—but before he can, the lord calls out to him, urging Whisper to use his powers on him so that he can fight to the bitter end and engrave his legacy into history. With some reluctance Whisper complies and activates his powers on the feudal lord, who then issues an order to advance. Despite Whisper’s deep regret over deceiving the lord, the lord claims that Whisper was actually the light that guided his life—and with that, he sets off. Their plan ruined, Kin and Gin teleport away.

True to history, the battle was then lost, and the lord died—however there was never any record of Whisper’s influence on his life. At long last Whisper and Jibanyan are returned to the present, and the episode ends with Jibanyan teasing Whisper about hiding his ability using the Yo-kai Pad.
