Yo-kai Watch Episode 43 is an episode of Yo-kai Watch Anime. It's about Professor Renkon and the Mysterious Mansion story.

Professor Renkon and the Mysterious Mansion

Nate’s watching a TV show about the adventures of “Professor Renkon”, an English detective who somehow solves mysteries by being completely wrong about them. Whisper and Jibanyan think the show is silly, but Nate is totally in love with how cool Professor Renkon is. The next day, Nate and his classmates are on a school outing to plant some trees. Nate impresses his friends by imitating Professor Renkon and “solving a puzzle”, even though he was completely wrong about it.

Nate and his friends get to work planting trees, but a mysterious shadowy figure is watching them from afar. Jibanyan senses something watching them, and Nate uses this as a chance to play up his “Professor Renkon” impersonation. Eventually it starts to look like rain, so the classmates take refuge inside a luxurious western-style manor. However, Jibanyan senses someone is still watching them…

The group decides to explore the manor for a while, until a strange voice cries out and a mysterious flower appears on the wall. Spooked, they run away, but then suddenly come to a creepy doll sitting at the end of a hallway… and another flower appears on it too! When they scream in terror, the owner of the hotel Hanamori shows up wondering what’s going on.

When they mention flowers, Hanamori leads them to the mansion’s flower garden and then leaves them to prepare some tea. When he leaves, Nate and co. have a discussion about the puzzle of the mysterious flowers. Everyone seems to be relying on Nate to figure out the “puzzle”, but Nate is feeling a little hesitant now.

Nate talks it over with Jibanyan and Whisper and realizes that it’s probably a Yo-kai causing the mysterious flowers to appear. Nate uses the ol’ Yo-kai watch to investigate but discovers nothing unusual. Hanamori finally returns with tea, and Nate starts to suspect that Hanamori might be the culprit behind the mysterious flowers.

Just moments after Hanamori leaves, the group hears him cry out from the other room, and they rush to investigate. They discover him lying face down in the other room, with a flower popping out of his head. Without a moment’s delay he suddenly springs to his feet and starts doing an odd dance and singing about how happy he is, even when obviously painful things happen to him.

The others implore Nate to figure out what’s going on, so Nate “deduces” that perhaps Hanamori was clubbed over the head with a shovel. But while they’re discussing theories about the manor’s mystery, suddenly Eddie sprouts a flower and starts dancing and singing as well. Just moments later, the same fate befalls Katie, and then Bear! And before long, everyone in the manor except for Nate is dancing and singing about how happy they are.

Nate vows to find the culprit, donning a top hat just like Professor Renkon. Nate and Whisper note that there’s a particularly pleasant aroma coming from somewhere in the manor, so they just follow their noses to the upper floor where they discover a pillar sprouting numerous pink flowers. However, when he uses the Yo-kai Watch on the pillar, it still shows nothing.

Whisper checks the Yo-kai Pad again, and finally realizes that the Yo-kai responsible for this mess is probably Elder Bloom, who causes flowers that make people happy to bloom everywhere. Jibanyan’s tummy growls, which makes Nate think of the time Hungramps was inspiriting the entire convenience store to make people hungry.

Following this clue, Nate guesses that Elder Bloom is inspiriting the entire mansion, so he rushes outside and checks the entire front of the mansion with his Yo-kai Watch. Sure enough, it reveals Elder Bloom. Nate yells at Elder Bloom to quit inspiriting the manor and causing trouble for everyone—however Elder Bloom thought he was doing everyone a favor by making them happy.

It turns out that Elder Bloom was very happy that the kids came to help replant the forest, and as a reward he decided to spread his flowers to make them feel happy. Realizing he’s causing them trouble instead, he cancels his powers and everyone returns to normal. Nate wonders why Elder Bloom was inspiriting the whole house, so Elder Bloom explains that long ago he planted a cherry tree here. Eventually it was cut down and made into a support pillar for the manor, but Elder Bloom didn’t want to leave it behind. So, he stayed behind and has lived in the manor ever since.

Finally, Elder Bloom hands over his Yo-kai Medal. As they head back into the mansion, Nate ponders if there isn’t somewhere that Elder Bloom could use his powers to make flowers bloom—and when he sees a fireworks festival poster, he has a great idea.

At the fireworks festival, Elder Bloom makes huge flowery fireworks in the sky for everyone to see, but the other part of his powers also takes effect and everyone starts dancing happily again! This time even Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan are affected, and the episode ends with everyone dancing merrily.
