How to Recruit/Befriend
- Underground Waterway - Behind large door in central area.
- -You need to pull 3 levers which turn on colored lights to unlock the door.
1. Enter the Waterway from Shopping Street Narrows in Shopper's Row and cross the first tiny bridge for a lever (Green light)
2. Enter Waterway from Delivery Bay in Downtown Springdale and cross the first bridge for another lever (Red light). It's directly across from where you came in.
3. The last one it's in the far north part of the waterway near the exit into Mt. Wildwood, but since the entrance in the Wildwood is up on a ledge (Where those two chests are) you have to enter from Breezy Hills.
- Once inside just hug the right wall ignoring the little bridges until you get to a gate that you have to interact with to open. Once through, head north skipping the first bridge and crossing the second one. Head north a tiny bit and cross the other nearby bridge to find the lever (Yellow light).

Origin
Awevil, like Greesel, is based in the youkai Nurarihyon, said to be the leader of the Hyakki Yakou (Hundred Demon Night Parade). In the original tales he is described as an old man with an elongated head, wearing fine clothes or the garbs of a head priest. He'll infiltrate mansions at dusk, while everyone is busy finishing up on chores for the day, and sit down in one of the rooms pretending to be the lord of the house: he will smoke the master's pipe, drink tea and sample the expensive food, bark orders at the servants and generally make himself at home. Sometimes he'll even dress up like a wealthy merchant and walk around town, or visit red light districts and mountain villas escorted by his youkai underlings. In Shigeru Mizuki's GeGeGe no Kitarou, Nurarihyon is one of the recurring antagonists of the series.
Curiously, in Yo-kai Watch Busters: Moon Rabbit Team a different Yo-kai named Nurarihyon makes an appearance.
