==Official Description==
This Yo-kai visits homes asking "Any brats here?" He uses his knives to scare children. He is revered as a popular figure, so much as so that people dress up as him to scare children into being good.
==Yo-kai Watch 1 Game Information==
This is another [[Yo-kai]] who can be recruited very early on in the game and can hold his own during the post game. By [[Traffic Light Events|running the red light 5 times]], he will appear and try to punish you. He may not be so easy to bring down at first, but once you have Yo-kai at level 25+ you should be able to bring him down without too much trouble. His [[STR]] stat is very good, and the rest of his [[stats]] are quite balanced. You might want him to be a little quicker though, so I recommend training him with the [[Twisted]] or [[Cruel]] [[attitude]]. His skill also offsets his need to have a lot of attack power, because it raises his strength with each enemy he defeats. This is another Yokai who makes best use of the [[Vampiric Fangs]].

===How to Recruit/Befriend===
*Once your yo-kai team is strong enough, you'll want to cross the street at crosswalks without pressing the button on purpose so Snartle will appear and fight you. Throw him his favorite food and it's business as usual to befriend him. You can also go to the Tranquility Apartments at Shopper's Row and befriend him like any other Yo-Kai. I prefer you use Marbled Beef.

In Yo-kai Watch, If the player crosses the street 5 times without changing the signal beforehand, Snartle will attack them to teach them a lesson.In the anime, Snartle wants to teach city kids how to behave, but he cannot do so due to the city laws, making him depressed. As such, he desires to find a new form of being useful. ==Relationships=====Toiletta===Snartle gains a huge streak of popularity -as NAMAHAGE- thanks to Toiletta's image asesoring skills. However, he breaks in tears upon realizing he no longer has a role as a terror figure and begs Toiletta to produce him as so. ==Anime==Snartle appears in EP063 when he is seen terrorizing a crosswalk looking for any brats. He is arrested and eventually released, not without being depressed. Then, Nate approaches him and expresses relief on his release. At Nate's house, he reveals he traveled from the countryside to teach city kids to behave well as well. After deliberating about how to give Snartle an occupation without causing terror, Nate summons Toiletta. The girl Yo-kai decides to give Snartle a makeover, complete with a new phrase, and christen him as NAMAHAGE. Afterwards, Toiletta uses the media to spread Snartle's new image, with an astonishing grade of success: being the personality with the best look in jeans; with the year's catchprase, and even being the star of a movie. At their offices, Snartle thanks Nate for introducing him to Toiletta; however, upon being asked that he left his role of scaring children, Snartle breaks in tears and begs Toiletta to produce him into an image of fear. However, not even a second later, Namahage is arrested by tax evasion. ==Trivia== ===Origin=== Snartle is based on the <i>Namahage </i>(also his Japanese name), a bogeyman from the Iga peninsula. During New Year's, unmarried men of Iga dress up with oni masks and straw coats, and go around scaring girls and children brandishing a large kitchen knife and a wooden bucket, while chanting "Any crybabies in here? Are there any naughty brats?" The creature's name derives from <i>namomi</i>, the heat blisters one gets from sitting by a fire for too long, and <i>hageru</i>, "peeling off".
