Komasan: Movin On Up! Episode 3

Komasan and the president of the company are out for a round of golf to get more friendly. At the end of the day, Komasan is “plum tuckered out,” but the president admits that he invited his employee along to ask some advice. He takes Komasan to the club Komajiro used to hang out at because his daughter also spends her nights there. And the president is so worried about her because they can’t communicate very well. While he is pleading for help, his daughter, Sophie, appears, and she’s Komajiro’s ex-girlfriend.

Sophie is talking harshly to her father, and Komasan asks why in his folksy way. She concedes that she’s acting different to fit in with the crowd. The crowd includes those three guys who bullied Komajiro before, and they came looking for Sophie. They find her, but they also spot Komasan and note he’s “a hardcore thug” before all running away. Now that it’s just the three of them, the president has a chance to speak with his daughter. He tries to reason with her that her dream of becoming a successful dancer is unrealistic, but she refuses to quit. During the argument, Komasan gets lost in the music and wanders down to the dancefloor. People are crowding around him doing a country dance under a spotlight, and Sophie is inspired just like her father always is. And, just like her father, Komasan leads her to big success.

In his office, the president is flipping through magazines with his daughter on the cover, and he thanks Komasan for helping his daughter and saving their relationship while Komasan is making the building sparkle elsewhere.

Yo-kai Baku

Nate slept in, so he’s late for school. He, Whisper and Jibanyan all sprint to school, but they make it through the gate as the bell rings. When they finally reach the classroom, everyone inside is asleep. Whisper and Jibanyan think that’s so great and convenient, but Nate realizes there’s obviously a yo-kai involved There was a purple, gaping-mouthed, red-eyed tapir standing in the middle of the room. Baku puts people to sleep and eats their dreams.

She put everyone in class to sleep, and when she begins to suck down everyone’s dreams, they’re visible to the people in the room. Bear dreams about fighting a kaiju and being many stories tall. Eddie dreams of being seven feet tall and being successful. Katie is tall enough to reach all the desserts. Everyone. Even Jibanyan is 20 feet tall and is dreaming about fighting trucks again like Kenshiro from “Fist of the North Star.” When he vanquishes the truck, cat girls swarm him. Baku isn’t satisfied with all these dreams. Nate decides to summon Shogunyan because a legendary yo-kai should have legendary dreams. At first he resists Baku’s sleep gas, but he passes out. And he dreams about being 80 feet tall, which is the most impressive thing Baku had ever seen. She’s moved to tears. After her legendary meal, she grants Nate her medal, and everyone wakes up.

Mr. Johnson admonishes Nate a little for being late, which prompts Nate to blame Baku for sleeping in. Both she and Whisper tell him to take responsibility for his mistake.

Kyubi: Operation Amusement Park

Kyubi is still trying to collect his last heart, and his own heart is set on Katie. She and two of her friends are hanging out at the amusement park. They all decide to ride a new rollercoaster when human-form Kyubi surprises Katie with a rose. He pulls two more out for Katie’s friends and bewitches them to leave him alone with Katie. Kyubi’s plan is to stress Katie out and let her decide that her heart beating faster is because she’s in love with him.

But Kyubi imagines himself as being much cooler than he is. When the rollercoaster gets going, he screams and cries. He nearly even loses concentration and reverts back to his fox form. Katie suggests another thrill ride, but he prefers the slow-paced haunted house. He himself is a spirit or a monster, so he thinks it’ll be easy. But the place is full of slashers and zombies. When he tries to hold Katie’s hand, he grabs a zombie and runs screaming into a crowd of the walking dead, completely losing control and spooking the zombie actors.

When they get outside, it turns out the new roller coaster they rode is named the “Suspension Bridge Effect,” and Katie explains how much the actual effect doesn’t work. She even means that she isn’t affected by it anyway because she isn’t afraid of heights. Kyubi runs away and her friends return, but they return with no memory of ever meeting Kyubi.
