Yo-kai Watch Episode 21 is an episode of Yo-kai Watch Anime. It consists of Yo-kai D'wanna, Yo-kai Insomni, and Komasan in Love Episode 1.

Yo-kai D'wanna

Nate and Jibanyan are getting hyped up to go for a jog. Whisper wonders why they’re suddenly into jogging, and it turns out that their motivation is because they saw a race on TV. Later at school, during class the kids are all putting together wooden stools. Bear seems to be doing fine, but suddenly he loses all of his motivation for working on his stool and walks off.

Later during gym class, Nate is all revved up and ready to show his classmates the fruits of his jogging training. Everything is going great and it looks like Nate is about to win, but suddenly Eddie loses his motivation for timing the race and throws away his stopwatch. A little bit after that, Katie is wiping a blackboard clean but she loses all interest in cleaning midway through. Something’s causing everybody to lose their motivation, and Nate suspects a Yo-kai is at work again.

Using the Yo-kai Watch, Nate reveals the Yo-kai D’wanna inspiriting Katie! D’wanna makes people to want to stop doing things right in the middle of doing them. He shows his powers in action when he makes Katie want to stop playing jump-rope with her friends, and then makes her want to stop playing dodgeball too. At the rate things are going, Katie’s going to make enemies of everyone, so Nate realizes he has to get rid of D’wanna.

Nate whips out Babbleon , a Yo-kai that causes people to chatter on endlessly. His plan is to wear D’wanna down by making Katie want to keep talking constantly. Babbleon makes Katie start rambling on and on, but D’wanna cuts in and makes her stop. No problem, Babbleon just makes her start talking again. Katie runs her mouth for a while longer until D’wanna cuts in once again and makes her stop.

Katie’s rambling story was actually so interesting that everyone wants to find out what she was going to say next, so as Babbleon and D’wanna battle over her with their powers, Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan try to guess what she was going to say next. Eventually Jibanyan guesses that she was talking about crocheting which dispels D’wanna’s power over her. Exhausted, D’wanna collapses, and Nate scores his Yo-kai Medal too.

Later, back at Nate’s house, Nate’s lazing about in bed feeling very unmotivated to go jogging any more. Whisper suspects that D’wanna is back… but nope, Nate is just being lazy.

Yo-kai Insomni

It’s late at night and Nate is reading comics in bed. Whisper reminds him that he should get some sleep because there’s school tomorrow, but Nate brushes him off. Whisper shrugs in defeat, but lurking in the back of Nate’s room is the shadow of an unknown Yo-kai…

The next day in class, everybody seems to be dozing off—even the teacher! When Whisper points out to Nate that he’s falling asleep in class, Jibanyan and Whisper freak out at the dark bags under Nate’s eyes. It’s not just Nate though, Bear and Eddie are looking like zombies too. Everybody in the class is on the verge of an untimely afternoon nap.

Of course, Nate asserts there’s a Yo-kai at work, and the Yo-kai Watch reveals Insomni! Insomni makes people stay up all night, and she’s making all the kids in Nate’s class lose out on much-needed sleep. Insomni thinks that sleeping is boring, so she shoots out an eye beam that causes everyone it hits to wake up, despite being exhausted. Everyone’s going to lose their mind if Insomni has her way, so Nate decides it’s time to bust out one of his buddies to take care of her.

Nate’s got the perfect Yo-kai for the job too, summoning the dream-eater Baku to handle Insomni. Baku fires her sleeping gas at Insomni, but Insomni counters with her eye beams. Suddenly the scene changes abruptly to a 1-on-1 “Yo-kai Ladies of Slumber Smackdown”, commentated by Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan. Baku and Insomni duke it out in a wrestling ring, with Baku opening the match by throwing a blanket over Insomni and lulling her to sleep.

That doesn’t work, as Insomni’s not going to fall asleep that easily. Baku steps up her game with soothing lavender, lullabies, and luxury pillows. But even that doesn’t put Insomni to sleep, so Baku whips out the “old-school” technique on her, and tries to hypnotize her into sleep. This unfortunately backfires and Baku is the one who ends up asleep. Insomni wins the match… or she would have won the match, if it hadn’t all been a dream!

Insomni actually fell asleep when Baku hit her with sleeping gas, and the whole “smackdown” scene was just her dream which Nate and the others were watching. Fortunately, Insomni’s quick “power nap” refreshed her and she gives her Yo-kai Medal to Nate out of gratitude. With Insomni’s powers cancelled, everybody falls right to sleep... in the middle of the school day.

Later, Nate’s in bed again and he can’t fall asleep because he slept at school. He’s in for a rough day at school tomorrow if he doesn’t get some rest.

Komasan in Love Episode 1

Komasan is walking around in the city when it starts to rain, so he decides to pop inside a coffee shop. As Komasan looks around the shop for a place to sit, he spots a pretty lady reading a book. When she turns to look his way, he is instantly smitten with love, blushing brightly. He tries to regain his composure but is obviously in love with the young lady. He sees her order coffee, so he orders some too, but the coffee is too bitter for him when he tries it.

The waiter suggests some milk and sugar for his coffee, but Komasan sees that the lady didn’t use either of those when she had her coffee, so he tries drinking the coffee black again, despite it being too bitter for his sensitive tongue. Eventually the lady leaves the coffee shop, Komasan watching in awe as she leaves.

Back at home with Komajiro, Komasan seems a little bit spaced out. Komajiro quickly figures out that Komasan has fallen in love, and Komasan wonders if he will ever be able to see the pretty lady again at the coffee shop.
